Crochet: Striped Mindless Scarf

So I was sick for a little over a week. I wasn't able to crochet, which is how I was able to tell how sick I was, but I still jumped on my stationary bike every day 🙄 That anxiety and OCD life, yo. It doesn't let up when you're sick.

Anyway...

I think I'm amassing a nice collection of scarves. I realised I still had tape yarn leftover from when I made my placemat settings, but didn't have enough left to create a tablecloth. I'm going to be using the tape yarn for scarves. It'll be interesting to work with, I do find tape yarn frustrating, but the yarn will make some lovely, chunky scarves.

Challenge Item #4: Striped Mindless Scarf

Description

This scarf is two-toned with solid blocks of a silvery grey colour broken up by cream. I feel the stitch creates a bulkier feel to the scarf compared to my others even though I'm using the same yarn. There's also a lovely drape and stretchiness to it.

The dimensions come to 197cm (77inches) long by 20cm (7.8inches) wide.

Hook Size and Yarn

Hook: 5MM/H Yarn: Once again I used 4 Seasons Spot Saver yarn in colours Cream and Silver.

The original pattern calls for one skein in one colour, but I get bored. I followed the pattern with my two colours in the following rows;

Silver - rows 1-11, 14-29, 32-36, 39-53, 56-57, 60-61, 64-87, 90-94, 97-112, 115-126.

Cream - rows 12-13, 30-31, 37-38, 54-55, 58-59, 62-63, 88-89, 95-96, 113-114.

Overall

In all honesty I was seriously contemplating keeping this scarf for myself, but I'm trying to keep my scarf collection to a minimum. I only have one neutral scarf, but it's a beanie scarf, so.... I will probably keep one in future.

I think this is my favourite scarf so far. The pattern being called 'mindless' is fair. It's a very quick yet satisfying pattern. I love the end result and have added the pattern to my repeats list.

I'm looking forward to donating this scarf because I feel confident it will be a joy for who

ever receives it as well as help to keep them warm.

Project also posted to my Ravelry and Instagram.
